Taking care of your tattoo as it heals is just as important as choosing your artist.

Your tattoo was created by a professional. To ensure a top quality tattoo, the rest is up to you. Please strictly follow these simple care instructions for the duration of the healing process to ensure the best results and to avoid any error on your part.

STEPS TO HELP THE HEALING PROCESS:

Always wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before touching your tattoo.

Remove your bandage the morning after getting your tattoo.

Wash your tattoo with your anti-bacterial soap. Only use your hands, do not use a wash cloth. Be sure to get it as clean as possible.

Gently pat your tattoo dry with paper towel. Do not rub or exfoliate.

Apply derm shield, allowing a 1/2 inch border around the entire tattooed area. This is to be certain of a proper seal. Allow the term shield bandage to remain on your tattoo for four days.

When removing your derm shield, be sure to start at an edge and roll it as you take it off. We do not suggest just peeling off the derm shield. It is easiest to do this in the shower.

If you got a tattoo from Emma:

  • We recommend letting your tattoo breath and air out as it heals.

  • Always use clean hands that have been washed with anti-bacterial soap. Gently rub a small amount of unscented cream like aquaphor on your tattoo. Be sure not to put a heavy layer on your tattoo.

  • Do not use Neosporin, bag balm, petroleum or vaseline or anything scented. Wash, dry, and apply your cream 1-3 teams daily, as needed. Do not let your tattoo dry out but do not over saturate.

  • On the first night, you may want to wrap your tattoo in Saran Wrap to prevent sticking to your bedding. Do not use anything other than Saran Wrap, as other materials can adhere to your open tattoo and affect the healing process.

tips to help the tattoo heal well:

  • We do not suggest swimming, soaking, or tanning for at least 2 weeks. This does not mean you cannot shower, just be quick to make sure you arent soaking your bandage.

  • This is our preferred method for healing our tattoos. Do not take advice from your peers, as all artists have methods that they may use, and may not work for every tattooers application style.

  • If you happen to not use derm shield, do not let your tattoo dry out to

  • Please call your artist should you need any help/advice. Any deviance in healing method would mean that touchups needed on the tattoo are at your own expense, and due to your negligence.
